I am loving my husband!! He has been so amazing this past week. The amount of patience he's shown with taking care of me after my tonsillectomy means the world to me. I feel so blessed to have someone that loves and supports me one hundred percent.

I am loving the sunshine today! It's beautiful! I want to get stuff done inside the house so I can go soak up some sun while I can! I do enjoy all the sunshine we get in California.

I am loving that it is starting to feel like the holidays. I am overwhelmingly thankful to be able to spend the holidays with my husband this year.

I am loving a short week this week!! Travis has off for the Marine Corps birthday and Veterans Day!

I am loving listening to Pandora!

I am loving that I'm starting to feel better. I've finally been able to eat some normal solid food! The pain is still there but subsiding slowly.

I am loving my opportunity to go to school. I may not enjoy my classes this term but I am still glad to be able to take them. I absolutely can not wait to graduate. Graduating college never seemed like that big of a deal to me... until I got married, started moving around, and life started happening. I've worked harder for it now than I ever have and it is going to be such a huge accomplishment for me to graduate.

Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

"I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your blog."

Hey, it's okay...

To listen to silly girly songs all day on loop.

To want to put up the Christmas tree weeks before Thanksgiving.. we already have the stockings up!

To not be ready or prepared for everything. It's inevitable and you'll go crazy trying.

To stay in your PJs as late as you want.

To not even know what state the laundry is in... haven't touched it in a week!

To be dreaming of food. I've managed to get to semi-solid foods! I just want real food!

To waste time on Pintrest! They're stored ideas for later.

If you all would like to check it out, Women Living Well is doing a ten day series about Godly marriages. I love her blog! It's always chalked full of good information and cute stories. I've always believed marriage is something you should constantly work on. There is always something you could learn about your spouse or grow together. The work only begins when you say, "I do!"

This has been one of my all time favorite poems. I could read love poems all day...

anyone lived in a pretty how town
by E.E. Cummings

anyone lived in a pretty how town
(with up so floating many bells down)
spring summer autumn winter
he sang his didn't he danced his did

Women and men(both little and small)
cared for anyone not at all
they sowed their isn't they reaped their same
sun moon stars rain

children guessed(but only a few
and down they forgot as up they grew
autumn winter spring summer)
that noone loved him more by more

when by now and tree by leaf
she laughed his joy she cried his grief
bird by snow and stir by still
anyone's any was all to her

someones married their everyones
laughed their cryings and did their dance
(sleep wake hope and then)they
said their nevers they slept their dream

stars rain sun moon
(and only the snow can begin to explain
how children are apt to forget to remember
with up so floating many bells down)

one day anyone died i guess
(and noone stooped to kiss his face)
busy folk buried them side by side
little by little and was by was

all by all and deep by deep
and more by more they dream their sleep
noone and anyone earth by april
wish by spirit and if by yes.

Women and men(both dong and ding)
summer autumn winter spring
reaped their sowing and went their came
sun moon stars rain

It has finally happened, my tonsils are gone!
Monday morning I woke up actually before the crack of dawn to take a shower and head over to the Naval Hospital. The Sailors and civilian docs took pretty good care of me and in no time, I was tonsil free! They fed me orange popsicles and made sure I wasn't in too much pain. I had gotten a ton of great advice about recovery and now I'm finding it out first hand. It is totally true that it gets worse before it gets better. The day I came home from my tonsillectomy I was thinking, "wow, this isn't bad at all!" The second day was a bit worse and I'm hoping my third day was the worst of it. The morning of the third day was the worst. The swelling has gone down quiet a bit. The soreness from having a breathing tube is fading. Now the cauterized wounds where my tonsils used to be need to turn into scabs. It's really not pretty. I've been stuck to eating popsicles, ice cream, chicken and stars soup, jello, and eggs. The issue I've run into is that a lot of soft food is also very sugary, which makes me feel even more nauseated. I love ice cream, but all the sugar on top of the pain meds is making me feel sick. Trying to find non-sugary, filling, soft, swallow-able food is difficult! Despite my sweet husband's warnings, I've cooked a few things only to be unable to swallow them. Mac and cheese, couscous, and smoothies are going to have to wait. I'm so hungry! I want real food! I am already planning a Chick Fil A feast as soon as my throat allows! I'm so thankful that I've had someone awesome to take care of me and cook me some meals. Travis is an expert at cooking eggs by now!
Another surprise is that I have not slept nearly as much as I thought I would. Originally I thought I'd be passed out all day from the pain meds! It's a challenging cycle. I've been sleeping only for a few hours here and there with tiny naps in between. My body exhausts itself but before I can get too much sleep my throat wakes me up.
I can already tell, despite the epic whining about changing my mind, that this was worth it. My throat hurts like crazy, but I know this is a good thing. Sadly, I still need to get some school work done for this week and I'll probably be home bound for the entire weekend too.

As you've heard in my last post, I hate dirty dishes! I can unload a dishwasher no problem, but dirty dishes... yuck!! I know it's just food, and I am well aware my hands are washable, germs aren't going to permeate my gloves anytime soon.. I just hate dirty dishes!
I came across this today and it got me thinking about how lucky we are. I have wonderful fresh food in my house and a wonderful husband to share meals with! How blessed! It may help me change my mind about dirty dishes... a little :)

YAY!! I officially rocked my accounting final! I got a 90! I am sooo proud of myself. It was such a hard class. Now I just have to sit back and wait for this extremely slow teacher to grade the rest of my work.
I have the next week off between classes. I really need to be a week ahead since I'm confident that getting my tonsils out and the Marine Corps ball will push me behind. So my goals for this week are to go ahead and start on my school work and get the house as clean as possible before the surgery. I'll admit, I'm terrible at house cleaning. There are some things I don't mind, but then things like the dishes that I hate. Dirty dishes gross me out so much. I wish I were a master at house keeping!! If anyone has any tips, let me know!

I am just one test away from being done with this term! Sadly, it's an accounting test. I'm so ready to get it over with. I just need to retain all of my accounting knowledge until my next accounting class in January. Next week I'll start the second half of my semester. It feels like school is going to go on forever! I know it won't though. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. And I will get a break as I'm planning to take off a semester after the upcoming deployment. The hardest thing about school is just getting back into it. I only took off two years between college classes but it seemed like so much longer. And anyone that says online college is easier is crazy! Having done both, I can confidently say this is harder. It was so much easier to show up to class and do what was asked of me. Now I feel like the teacher and the student!
While I'm not excited about the reason, I am happy that this week we bought tickets to fly home in December! I am so excited to go "home" with Travis for a bit. It will have been two years for him! I just wish we weren't going to miss fall. Fall in Georgia is so beautiful! I've always loved the crisp air and the leaves changing. There is no such thing in California. The palm trees are always green and the grass is always hanging on for dear life.
It will be a wonderful, hopefully relaxing, trip with my great husband and family.

It's been awhile. I've been neglecting my poor blog.
Well, Travis is home from the field and working his butt off at work! I am still a bit swamped in school work but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! The first term of the semester is almost over. Three more weeks of accounting! Until my next accounting class that is.. But next term should be easier.
Last night we went to the beach to see the waves. The red tide is in the San Diego waters and at night when the algae is disturbed (waves) they glow a neon blue. So just for a moment as the wave starts to break it glows neon blue. It was very cool! None my photos turned out well but it was fun to see it. The neon waves were pretty against the black looking water.

So the house is all quiet again with Travis away in the field. Hopefully this will be the last of it until he deploys. We are both dying to get this deployment over with. It has become a huge thorn in our sides. The last deployment wasn't exactly a walk in the park for either of us by any means. But this one is just going to be different. We both weren't exactly expecting him to be doing what he's going to do. It looks like communication is actually going to be worse this time. I'm sick of hearing about it. He literally got home from Afghanistan and that week started talking about the next go. We're just ready to get it over with.
Thankfully, there are a few positives. He won't be deployed over the holidays again. Though he will miss my birthday (which is nothing new..) and our third anniversary. This will also be the last deployment. There won't be enough time on his enlistment to deploy again. What we do next after this deployment is really up to us. I am so thankful that his job in Marines has provided him with good training. I feel like we are less stuck than other couples. Whether he stays in or gets out is still up in the air. Either way I'm excited and ready for our options!
With all this alone time, I have no excuses with homework. This semester is proving to be a lot more difficult. Being sick and away at the beginning pushed me behind a bit. I hope next term is a bit easier! That's a big hope though! Next term will fall during a lot of predeployment stuff, a tonsillectomy, and the holidays. Yikes. I will work my little school butt of during the deployment, and if all goes as planned I'm thinking I might take a semester off during homecoming. I think homecoming is challenging enough without the added stress of school!
